Sarah Trundle is a Charlottesville, Va. painter who, after beginnings in representational art, where even then her instinct was to view every scene as merely collections of simple shapes and colors, now works primarily in abstraction.
Decisive mark making and bold, geometric shapes are the hallmarks of her work which, along with her use of color, are what constitute her "subjects". Her unique and many-layered paintings range from brightly colored, playful abstracts, to serene, monochromatic horizon line paintings- the seemingly disparate styles bridged by their ultimate representation of simple shapes and colors.
Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dartmouth College and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She started her career as a full time artist after having worked many years as a mental health therapist (who always dabbled in art).
