Being born a Kentucky gal, I've always had an interest in exploring all things that bring you joy and a peace of comfort; we all know that feeling of nostalgia, a longing for home, but a yearning for the unknown and the mysteries of life. I like to think I try my hardest to create pieces that inspire or create at least some type of feeling that leaves you in wonder, even if it's just a little bit. The artistic process isn't always fun or immediately fulfilling but I try to enjoy the journey and hope that viewers can resonate with that. I wish to convey a beautiful realness through my pieces, a connection from me and my experiences to you all.
I attended Watkins College of Art & Design in Nashville, TN and spent the following few years traveling and connecting with people. Because of my love for people and experiences, I'm drawn to portrait work but feel most creative when dealing in mixed media. Over the last two years I focused in on non-representational work, which is what you'll find here at Rumjahn. This process was very enjoyable to me, although it was quite foreign to me at first. I find freedom in the movement and love balancing the colors in my palette.
