Nostalgic Road Trip

In 1956, The Federal Highway Act authorized the construction of the Interstate Highway System that we still use today. This era saw a rapid growth in automobile ownership by the average American family, with design and technology coming to the forefront ahead of functionality and practicality. Road trips became a popular pastime, reflecting the optimism and pride of our country. This show is comprised of artwork that reflects the same confidence and energy so pervasive in the art and design of that era.
